The covenant we ought to make (meat for the soul)

What is covenant?
Covenant is an agreement, either between people, or between God and a person or a group of people. When we deliberate deeply on our lives, we realize that most of our relationships with people involves a covenant, and we may be conscious or unconscious about it. In fact, the life we are living in our societies today is a covenant. People are getting along today because everyone is keeping his or her own part of the covenant. For instance, as a normal citizen of a state, you adhere to the laws and customs of the state, and the state in turn protects your rights as a citizen and provide social amenities for you. This is an example of a covenant. You are keeping your own part of the covenant by abiding to the laws of the state, and the state will keep its own part by protecting your rights as an abiding citizen whenever it is infringed on. You can see that there is an agreement. What is the purpose of this agreement between the state and the citizen? The purpose of this agreement is to establish peace in the society and eliminate anarchy. When the parties involved in the agreement play their own part of the agreement, they keep the goal of the agreement alive.
Apart from the example given above, there are so many aspects of our lives, where we are into a covenant, and we may be unaware of the fact that we are in a covenant. But there is a covenant that must be made by everyone, and millions of souls have neglected this covenant. It is the most profitable covenant; covenant that is open to all humans; it is the new covenant with our Lord Jesus Christ.

What is this covenant with our Lord Jesus Christ?
The covenant with our lord Jesus Christ is establishing an intimate relationship with him. A peculiar relationship that is sharply in contrast with the relationship we have with our fellow men. It is a profitable relationship that comes with a price. A relationship that is unsurpassed. A relationship that gladdens the body and soul.
It is a relationship where you will walk in his ways and do his wishes, and he will grant you all your heart desires. Romans 12 vs 1 says, "I beseech you therefore, brethren by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Again the meaning of the covenant is explained in Psalm 1 verse 1 --3 saying, "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful (2) but his delight is in the law of the lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.(3) He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf shall not wither   and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper." This is the covenant you keep with God. A covenant that demands you keep your own part by doing the will of God obeying him; and his own part by assuring you eternal life and granting your heart desires.
What is the price to pay in order to establish such a covenant with God?
The price to pay to establish such covenant with Jesus Christ is to come out of your old life, and start a new life with Christ. In other words, it means to repent of your sins and accept Jesus as your personal lord and savior. This is the price to pay
To start a new life with Jesus, you need to
1) Believe:  You need to believe that Jesus died for you on the cross of Calvary. You don't need to see the story as a myth. You need to believe that he died to save you from your sins without any atom of doubt. He loves you and he can do anything for you, you need to believe that also. You need to have faith in him.
3) Admit your sins:  My brothers and sisters, I want you to think about the life you have lived in the past and the profits it has added to you. Definitely, the life you lived might have profited you in all or some aspects of your physical life. But what about the soul? Of what value has the life you lived added to your soul? We all know that we won't be here forever and Christ will come soon. And don't fool yourself by saying, "We have a lot of time." Every second counts. That is why you need to admit today that you are a sinner and that you have not reciprocated the love  our Lord Jesus Christ showered on us at the cross of Calvary.
4) Repent of your sins:  Out of a sincere heart, ask the lord to forgive you and pardon your sins. The book of Acts 3:19 " repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out. 1 John 1:9 says " If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." We need to promise him that we will not go back to sin.
5) Invite Jesus into your life:
After repenting from your sins, you need to invite Jesus to take over your life. To truly serve the lord means to surrender your whole life and talent to him. You need to invite him into your life and let his light shine upon you. You can do this via the prayer of faith.

What is the goal of this covenant?
Like I said earlier, all covenants were established to preserve or attain a goal. Now the goal of this covenant with Christ is to protect or seperate you from the damnation and evil that is to come on the last day. The main goal of this covenant is to prevent you from perishing in hell fire. The aim of this covenant is to make you possess eternal life and to see Jesus on the last day. And when you do your own part of this covenant, your earthly desires will also be granted.
What are the benefits of this covenant?
The benefits of the covenant includes:
1) The opportunity to reciprocate the love of Christ.
2) Assurance of heaven or eternal life and prevention from perishing in hell.
3)Deliverance from all your problems, 2 Timothy 4:18 "And the lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever, Amen.
4) He will remove fear and give you courage.
5) He will provide for you
6) He will give you favour
7) He will heal you from your sickness
Conclusion
Just keep your own part of the covenant and the lord will be with you.

Let's reciprocate his love

This new year, we should avoid requesting for love and blessings without any plans on how to reciprocate such love. As we have crossed over into the new year, we look onto God and pray for healing, prosperity, progress, success, provision, happiness, wealth, and lots more. All these things we demand are what will make us happy, but we don't care about how to make the one that gives us all these things happy. Many don't care about the happiness of God; they do the will of men and not the will of God. This year, as we demand blessings from God, let us endeavor to make him happy also. The peculiar thing about the love of God is that he loves every one even those that are living in sin, he still loves them. But his pain is that sinners won't be able to make Heaven, because Heaven can never accommodate unrighteous people. You know how it feels when a man loves his wife dearly, and his wife fails to give him attention. It makes the husband unhappy, but he continues to endure and...

Our new garment in 2019

Happy new year everyone! I congratulate everyone that crossed over to this new year, and I pray that the grace of the Almighty God will continue to direct your paths this year. I could remember that young boy with a bright future. He was very intelligent, his academic scores were excellent, his was full of life, everything about him was just going fine and he was happy. It was unbelievable and a rude shock to me when the news of his demise got to me on easter Sunday 2018. I was unstable and I asked, " what happened to that handsome and happy boy? A boy full of life, no one saw his death coming, no one expected it, but the fact is that he is gone. Now we have crossed over to the new year, and we pray and ask for prosperity and developments in every aspect of our life, and we ignore the most important aspect of our lives. We see it as old fashioned or that we are still young for that, or that we know that it is important but we keep it aside till we achieve our ambitions.  That i...
