Happy new year everyone!
I congratulate everyone that crossed over to this new year, and I pray that the grace of the Almighty God will continue to direct your paths this year.
I could remember that young boy with a bright future. He was very intelligent, his academic scores were excellent, his was full of life, everything about him was just going fine and he was happy. It was unbelievable and a rude shock to me when the news of his demise got to me on easter Sunday 2018. I was unstable and I asked, " what happened to that handsome and happy boy? A boy full of life, no one saw his death coming, no one expected it, but the fact is that he is gone.
Now we have crossed over to the new year, and we pray and ask for prosperity and developments in every aspect of our life, and we ignore the most important aspect of our lives. We see it as old fashioned or that we are still young for that, or that we know that it is important but we keep it aside till we achieve our ambitions. That ignored part of our life... is the soul. Life does not end in this earth, after death we journey beyond the shores to a place where we are judged of and get the reward for the life we lived on earth. Saved souls make it to heaven but dirty souls make to hell. Who knows where my friend is receiving his reward.
Death is a respecter of no man, no matter the age or colour. And the coming of our lord Jesus is near. Now that we have crossed into the new year, will you allow the soul to remain in the darkness or will you expose it to the light of our lord Jesus Christ. Many distractions are out there and we can't imagine leaving them to follow the lord. Things like clubbing, premarital sex, lies, cultism, envy, stealing etc. But the lord in the Bible said, that which is highly esteemed among men is abominable unto God. All things in this earth will perish. What will it profit if a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul? Life on earth is very short, and I can't sacrifice few years for eternity. I don't want to spend eternity in hell.
Now, my fellow youths living in sin, sin profits us nothing but it will continue to make us enemies of God. If not for the death of Jesus Christ, men would have perish. But he died on the cross to redeem us from our sins. Now we have crossed into the year, are we going to make plans for our progress in life and forget about our souls. No, it is not wise. To assure ourselves heaven, our souls need to walk in the light of our lord Jesus Christ. Heaven is a nice place to be. Don't think you are too young to serve God. Every seconds count, that you are alive today doesn't mean you will be alive tomorrow. Caring for your soul today is a rewarding action to take. As we make plans for our prosperity, our souls should not be excluded.
How can we care for our soul?
The only way to care for soul and assure ourselves heaven at last, is to repent of our sins and ask forgiveness from the lord Jesus. And he will forgive you. The sins of last year that kept our souls in darkness: lying, fornication, malice, envy, stealing, killing, homosexuality, anger, hatred, etc. As youths jettison this sins and their destrictive pleasures. First, believe that Jesus died to save you from your sins, confess your sins to him, ask him to forgive you of your sins, and invite Jesus to come into your life and take
