What is teen dating Violence?
Teen dating violence is the abusive behavior exhibited within a dating relationship among teenagers. Teen dating violence is all about abusing the essence of a dating relationship. What is the essence of a dating relationship? The essence of a dating relationship is to make the both parties involved in that relationship happy, and to make them help each other. But if the activities and actions that lead to happiness in a relationship is no longer there, and there tend to be actions that lead to depression and heartbreak in a dating relationship, then we can say that relationship is a teen dating violence. Teen dating violence involves the physical abuse (Kicking, slapping, hitting, punching, shoving, etc); emotional abuse (yelling, intimidation, spreading rumors, isolation, stalking, threats, name calling); and sexual abuse (unwanted kissing, and any other form of coerced sexual act) of a dating partner by a co dating partner.
Many teenagers in UK, US, Canada, and other parts of Africa, Asia and Europe are victims of teen dating violence. The consequences of teen dating violence include: transmission of diseases, low self esteem, health disorders, depression, thought of suicide, pains in the body, isolation, death, etc.
Are you a teenager that needs someone to date? Are you a teenager already in a dating relationship? Here is what you need to know below.
SAFEGUARDING your relationship against TEEN DATING VIOLENCE.
1)Develope the right attitude for a relationship: For you to have a perfect relationship with anybody, you need to develope yourself. A good relationship starts from you. You need to be the right person yourself. What I am saying is that you need to develop a good habit and behavior meet for a good relationship. You need to develop a good moral life. Check up your bad characters and attitudes and start addressing them to become good characters. It could be the way you talk, anger, envy, greed, immaturity, etc. You need to check the bad sides about you and correct them. Why do you need to do this? You need to do this because if not done it could lead to teen dating violence. Your partner might become aggressive to you if you have bad manners. You need to develop yourself morally to have a good relationship.
2) Rule out sex in your relationship: I know that this might sound ridiculous to you, but it needs to be done. Studies have shown that teenagers that were victims of teen dating violence, were in one way or the other involved in sexual acts. The moment sex enters into a pre marital relationship, that relationship becomes bound to disintegrate. To tell you the truth, if your partner insists on having sex with you, then he or she doesn't love you. They just want have a taste of you.
There is actually a reason why you need to avoid sex in a relationship. Some people might say, of what use is a relationship if there is no sex. But they are saying that because they are blind. They can't see afar off. When someone desires to have sex with you, and you are not married to that person, that person disrespects you. Sex is not love, it is meant to produce babies and satisfy the urge. When you rule out sex in your relationship, it tells your partner that you are not cheap and you have a honour to preserve. When you stand on this ground, your partner will respect your honor. But if you allow your partner to have sex with you, you have given him or her your honor. He will lose his initial interest in you, and when a beautiful lady passes by, he can't look away but follow her. You need to avoid sex because the more you have sex, the more you can't control the urge, and the more you can't control the urge, the more you have several sex partners. And if you have several sex partners then there is no relationship.
Teen dating is more than sex. It is meeting with the minds, and not with bodies. Teen dating is meant to show special love to a partner, and grow in knowledge with that special partner. Who knows? That relationship may lead to marriage tomorrow. Avoiding sex is respecting each other.
3) Date with someone with the same moral standards: You know your moral background and what you believe in. You need to date someone that has the same understanding with you. If you believe in humility and your partner doesn't, then that relationship will not work. You need to date someone with the same moral ideas.
4) Let your parents know who you are dating, and the person's background and residence. You need to listen to their instructions because they have good knowledge about how these things work. Remember, they were once like you.
5) Do not jump into relationship without knowing what it takes. You need to research about teen dating and listen to the views of others about teen dating before hooking up with a partner.
